Where I am wolf will fish a trapped beaver out from under the water, maybe a coyote? A bear would take it away.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I've had bobcats pull beaver out of the water but usually they tried to cover up what they left behind. My guess would be bear. Put up a trail cam and see what shows up.

Yukon, were those prices for the finished pelts you showed us? Sure would have left a sour taste in my mouth.

49 lbs was my biggest. I'd say I averaged around 35ish lbs this year. I was disappointed at first, but after thinking about it, they were all on the small side. Good thing I'm not in it for the money!

Good thing I'm not in it for the money! Beaver are one of the critters that you just can't afford to ship anymore, so we're stuck with either traveling some distance to a sale or agent or what you did. Like others have said; if you're satisfied that's what counts. Today is oil sac extraction day and then I'm pretty much done with trapping endeavors for the season. Have about 40 lbs of sacs to work on. Luckily the same person buying the oil also spoke for extracted sacs so that make's it easy for me. Since we're all interested in prices (and I'm not overly private on such matters) I'll let you know that I've been getting $2.50/oz for the oil and $4-$5/lb for the extracted sacs. Those 40 lbs of sacs should yield about 2.5 quarts. It's kind of weird, some sacs are completely dry and others are gushers.
