Pretty much a 3 season thing, my old gas grill finally rotted out so I replaced it with a 3 burner Camp Chef, kinda overkill for my needs but the price was right!, lol

The rain was shutting me done so I put a lean to roof over the grill now it doesn't matter if it rains.

I thought about an umbrella, but even the big ones seem lacking

I will grill regardless of the season.

One thing to watch however.
When I was a kid , my mom had a Weber kettle BBQ. Used it year round. One winter it was on the back deck grilling with a foot of snow on the deck. It was a good 8 feet away from the house , then a sudden change in the wind caused the heat to get blown directly towards the sliding glass door and it cracked it. Cost a few bucks to get the glass door fixed.

You would think 8 feet away was far enough , but just the right conditions caused the glass to break.

I used to have my grill on the deck

never had an issue but know enough people who did that it is now about 10 feet away from the house not near any glass at the bottom of the stairs , I have to walk further but fire has to go farther also.

We keep it in the garage and grill year round. Just throw the doors open!
I've seen vinyl siding that had a grill too close to the house. Not good.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

All year. Takes some fairly extreme weather to shut my grilling down.

Just happy to be here.

All four seasons here. Sun, rain, snow, sleet, and almost always in the dark. On those bad days I really wish I had a roof to cook under and some lights. Sometimes in the winter when it's really cold and blowing I have to turn the grill until the wind can't get into it just so I can get it to heat up. Those are the days I really question my life choices.

The solution to miserable winter grilling is called cast iron on the stove.

Oh come on aknome. The suffering makes it taste better and the wife appreciates my sacrifices. And it gives me extra leverage over the kids to finish their dinner when I say "Do you realize I stood out in a blizzard to cook this for you?!" LOL. But I do love my cast iron though, use it all the time.
