Any of you taking this blood thinner? I'm on Warfarin for several years because of irregular heartbeat. The downside of Warfarin is having to getting your blood checked every couple of weeks and you have to be careful with your choice of greens that you eat. I've read that with Eliquis you don't have to do any of that.
If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?

Eliquis is the best of all the blood thinners. I have been on it for several years and no problems. It’s close to the same as baby aspirin just a bit stronger. My wife was on warfarin for years and what a pain!
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

My wife was on warfarin for years and what a pain!I know what you mean. Warfarin is a pain. I end up going into the clinic every two weeks to have my blood checked. If I eat too many greens, my blood is too thick. If I don't eat very many greens, it's too thin. They want you somewhere in between with your numbers. I've read with Eliquis it doesn't matter as it's not affected by Vitamin K like Warfarin is.

Check into self testing at home. I did for my mom since it was getting difficult to get her to all the testing. They don't volunteer this info ,but ask and make sure you tell them you are having difficulties getting to the appointments. It is very easy and convenient to do at home. They send a person to train you the first time. They have good help line too!O

I am on Xarelto dad is on Eliquis and yes no testing so much nicer than warfarin

here is the warning my copay would be 1500 for 90 days

so I order it out of Canada as a generic Rivaroxaban runs me about 100 for 90 days

got the place from a member here and it keeps going up a little each time it started at 87 for 90 days

PM me if you want the info

they have Eliquis (Apixaban) it is a little more expensive

they way they explained it to my dad was they put you one one and if it doesn't work they try the other but as long as one works they don't switch.

my uncle is also on Xarelto
about everyone in the family is on something for a blood thinner , hereditary thick blood

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Been on Warfarin for 33 years. Learned to deal with the.testing. If numbers are stable, an INR test every 6 weeks. If things get out of the.numbers a.more frequent test is needed. Yup, it is a.pain at times. ELIQUIS not to be used with artificial valves and parts. I have five Titanium, Teflon and Dacron parts in me.That's true. A friend of mine has an artificial valve in his heart and Warfarin is his only option according to his cardiologist. I take Warfarin for my afib.

I'm going to check at my VA appointment tomorrow to see if I can get it any cheaper with them.

I have been on Eliquis for seven years. No problems and no testing. Also take a baby aspirin every day. Expensive but less costly that hospital copay for clots on the lungs.
