I’m surprised so few have been arrested at this point given the history of the products within the industry

Same here, lots of looking the other way by those tasked with enforcing the law.

See what I did there?

For those not in the know the "blue shop towel method" of mite control has been an open secret in the commercial bee industry for decades. Even seen on camera in the initial reporting of the CCD drama in 2006.

But by and large those choosing this method were using US sourced product.

Specifically this is nothing more or less than a homebrew formulation of what is commercially available in the registered miticide Apivar.

And no I have never used or would use an off label form of mite treatment nor am I personally aware of any individual that does.

All I am saying is if he paid the price they stated in the article for the miticide he was overpaying badly.
