Not really. If we put the time in to scrape, board, box, ship, and deduct commissions ....do you really think us Southerners would make more $$ than what we're averaging with GFW?

One of first jobs after I got out of the service was working in a six cat game. The south was the most productive. I will leave it there.

I do not need to watch a video where you can not see the whole picture of what is being done and can only hear parts of one side of the conversation. I have been there in person multiple times and left with check in hand. And I am not the only one. Thousands of trappers in multiple states and countries sell to GFW including areas where there is a lot of competition for the available fur.

Seems like GFW is a great option for selling in those states that have pickup routes, and I give him credit for the videos of actual grading and sales. Can't get much more transparent than that, though it does open the process up for the critics. There are advantages and disadvantages to international auctions, state association auctions, local buyers or route buyers, and glad we have options. The one I don't understand is check in hand vs. waiting a couple or few weeks for a check to arrive. Is that really a big deal for most sellers? Enough to effect where you market your fur?

These days in a down market, the wait can be years. Just Sayin! A few months is a nothing burger. To me anyway.

X2. Dirt. This whole fur marketing thing is evolving and re evolving. What worked 20 years ago may or may not be viable tomorrow. There is opportunity out there for the industrious. Hope someone can figure it out and right this ship.
