With my recent intro into thermal scopes and the fact that Georgia is legalizing fox and bobcats to be hunted this winter using electronic calls, I'm about to purchase an e-caller.
We have so many bobcats that it should be great hunting. Fox...not so much.
I need some recommendations from those who are familiar.
What brand? What features are a must?
I'm willing to spend $300 to $400 for the caller.

Lucky Duck Revolt. Get the rechargeable battery pack. Has a built in decoy all the sounds that you will ever need. Costumer service is good. The reason I will tell you to go with it, because 99% of the others are running a fox pro. All the sounds are a little different on each brand. We have both and fox pro and lucky duck. We have found that we have more response with the lucky duck. The only down side to the revolt, is the buttons don’t glow. But after a few times using it. Your fingers will remember where each button is. The pause button on the lucky duck is easier to find. They fixed the button problem with the Super revolt. The two lucky ducks have a stand they sit on, can rotate the call around as you call. The decoy stores in the handle and snaps on with a magnet.
Live each day as if it were your last. We know not at which hour it will come. Life is too short.Tell your loved ones each day how much you love them

Honestly, find out what everyone around you is using and go a different direction. The guys out west swear by anything that’s NOT a fox pro, because everyone else has one. Not very many around these parts calling..... ...that's why all these bcats are gonna be fun.

Leave the e caller at home an get a few GOOD open reed and closed reed calls. E callers have the same tones and sounds every time they're used
You never sound exactly the same every time you use a mouth call.
I have a fox pro shockwave that hasn't left the house in 2 years. The Kerry Carver and Rob Patrick calls go on every stand.
Heck my e caller may be in loose hands before to long ! I'm looking for quicker success. I quit using diaphragm turkey calls years ago...use pot and striker now.

I’ve hunted over those and I have an ICOtec. Went with it because of range. I want to be able to set the caller as far away as possible due to my terrain and want them focused on something other than me. I try and use a crosswind and sometimes I need it out there a ways. I was using an older model FoxPro and didn’t have but maybe 30yds range on the remote and it better be a clear line of sight. With this ICOtec I could drop it off around a corner and drive a few hundred yards away and it still plays. Different terrain features and what I needed it for is how I based my decision.
With that said, an X24 or Lucky Duck is probably in my near future. This is still my first full year of calling and I’m getting to experience the seasons, so to speak, on the properties I hunt. And no, not every one are the same.
As far as cats go, you’ll realize soon why e-callers weren’t allowed, lol. With a healthy population you’ll probably be calling in one or two every stand. Day or night. Even using nothing buy coyote vocals they’ll show up. Good info...thanks. As for the bcats susceptibility to e-calls....I know..... B4 my GW days there were 1 or 2 that died to my old Johnny Stewart cassette caller....distressed cottontail. 25ft cord on the speaker. Still have this caller and many cassettes.....in perfect condition. Runs off D batteries.
