I am considering a new job (and move) to New Mexico. It's near Angel Fire, NM. A couple questions for those who live (and trap/hunt) there.
I see you cannot trap public land. Are local landowners (for the most part) willing to give permission to trap their land?
For snaring, is a break-away or a deer stop more effective? I cannot snare here in NY, but have a little experience in other states. I'm looking for coyotes and bobcats mostly (assuming I can find them around).
Will a 160 trap badgers, since I see you cannot use larger than 6" conibears unless in a cubby. Or, should I just use my # 2 and # 3 traps?
I know the elk, deer, pronghorn draw hunts are closed already. Is it worth trying to private land hunt any of them for this fall?

Thank you, I should know if the job is mine in a week or so.

Your going to be in a brand new world, I put breakaways on my snares.

I snare more beaver than coyotes, I use a breakaway, I don't use connibears as the sun cooks a dead animal. It is different yet the same as trapping anywhere you'll bump into the big cats they're a real rush! If you get the job stop by Iam not that far!
