I have a potential customer who has what he describes as a very young skunk living under his kids shed. Being it's so small his feeling is it's an orphaned baby. He sees the skunk by itself quite often and it likes to spray frequently. My question is I would think this is too early for a young skunk (Ohio) to be on its own. I could go in and remove the skunk but I worry it could be a female with young under the shed. I would prefer not to trap her until the you are large enough to come out on their own to be caught as well. Does this skunk sound like a female rearing young? A male or a juvenile? Thanks for any advice.

When is the breeding season in Ohio? Add 60 days to the breeding season beginning to figure out if there could be young skunks.

its difficult to trust a home owners description. maybe set up a trail cam. there are usually a lot more than one baby skunk so it would have to have been both orphaned and abandoned by its siblings.
