There's a good chance they will stay around the house, if nothing catches them.

If you are planning to stock that many birds you should consider planting a few acres of food plots and some grass /hay type cover Sorghum sunflower and corn work For grass any kind of warm season grass or something like orchard grass clover works as a cool season grass and switchgrass or one of the blue stems along with Indian grass A pen raised pheasant needs some escape cover to survive Since they have not natural instinct you might as well put them out already dead Many studies have shown that less than 10 percent of stocked birds live to be a year old With out cover that numbe goes down

do you have 3 hens to let go also

maybe you missed the birds and the bees discussion

and I know it can be confusing these days if 2 of those ditch chickens identify as hens

but , um , yeah , 1+1+1 sill = 3 in that equation.

if your raising them and your just turning out spare males I get that

do you have a game farm license to be able to hunt them not in regular season? or is it needed in your area?

year round?

here if you want to plant birds and shoot them out of season (mid October till end of first week in Jan) you need to use chukar, pigeons , or have a game farm license.

always interesting how different places handle it

One of the only invasives from China people don't complain about.
I tried my best to eliminate them in Iowa lots of fun.

I knew an old man that released pheasants. Nobody thought they ever did anything and just got ate but any pheasant I ever saw with in a few miles of there I knew came from his farm but its not like the repopulated or anything but still neat to see. I used to pheasant hunt out west in NE and KS but I guess their populations are way down now too.

That's a more expensive way to bait the predators up for next trapping season.
