Oh man! I LIKE!

CONGRATS Nate!!!

I'm guiding one of my cousins this coming Saturday morning. I haven't been hunting since I killed my 2nd gobbler back on April 6th and I'm looking forward to it. Gonna go listen in the morning to see where they're roosting.

That’s a good one!
Big spurs are my thing!

5 plus? What’s that number represent?

Probably thinking 5 years old but biologists will tell you they've seen 2 year olds with 1.5 inch spurs and 5 year olds with 3/4 inch spurs, only thing they can guarantee is that your bird is a mature 2 year old or better.

Yes 5 years plus, I've killed enough to know this is accurate, this bird gobbled once in the two plus hours I worked him , he done lots of spit and drumming and and about half displayed once the last fifty yards or so,
Bigmeat surely has brown eyes, don't know how many biologist you talk to but if you're telling the Truth there just as full of s--- as you are.

Have to agree with Nate.
I’ve killed gobblers all over the country, and while there are subspecies that don’t grow spurs at the same rate as others, and some tend to wear down due to the rocky habitat in which they live, our eastern turkeys grow at nearly identical rates.
I would consider an 1 1/2” spurred gobbler certainly 5 years old and one heck of a trophy. 1 1/2” is rare, and anything over that is extraordinarily rare.
