Not often at all.. couple times a year... I set trails with little to no deer sign on them. The deer usually stay in the more open areas between the cedars and the use of jump sticks help too.

Click on the "Archives" forum and READ! Plenty of good advice and sets on there. Look at the tracks to see where the 'Yote is stepping and set a 2nd trap there. Make sure to double stake. Change up your bait.

One of my favorite sets for coyote is an old car tire laid on its side in an area where you see sign. Place your bait and/or scent inside the side walls of the tire. Place the trap in the center of the tire. When Wiley jumps into the tire he is done. Good Luck.

You'll need all the luck and then some to catch one in that set. If you got bait or lure good enough to catch them in that set you just as well set some cage traps too because they are nearly as effective on coyotes .
