You know what I retract my comment a bit as I didn't read it well enough... That being said theirs things to be said about short action bolt guns and small faster caliber... More from a reloading point of view tho....but for what it is the arc should be a BAAAAAD lil sucker in a bolt gun

Benefit of a bolt gun is you can load hotter, and longer. If you're not going to reload ammo availability would be a concern.

From what I’ve seen is there’s plenty of ammo out there right now. Seems manufacturers are jumping on the caliber.

The only reason other than “I got money burning a hole in my pocket” to do a 22 ARC (or a .22 Balki) is to get 22-250 performance reliably into an AR.

So doing one in a bolt gun makes no sense to me. Especially considering factory ammo availability and selection will GREATLY favor the 22-250 (three versus 33 on midway USA right now).

You’ll be pigeon holing yourself in that sense unless you start reloading for it.

Have a 22 ARC, built on a AR frame, upper build from Odin. I started my reloading off 224 Valkrie loads. Wasn't any ammo available, or load data, when I built mine. Now theirs ammo and Hornady, has reloading data available. Mine shots great, love the hardly any recoil. I'm shooting 75gr Hornady, & 77 gr Sierra, working up some 70 gr., Fort Scott, bullets. Shots suppressed and un suppressed real well. I'm very picky on my groups, and can stack them in with this caliber, had to play with the loads to get what I wanted. ( not hard with this rd., not much room from from start, load to max ) Will tell you, suppressed lot of blow back, highly recommend a good charging handle with a gas port to divert gas, worth the extra dollars. Have Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP 50 Pro, mounted with Silencerco can. Great yote rifle, killed 3 hogs with it in early April, hogs went down quick haven't had a yote run off either. Really debating a bolt in this calliber

So does really debating mean I shouldn’t or does it mean you like the idea?

So my thoughts: and again I'm no killer just a gun nut .

Since your buying factory ammo.... Unless your specifically wanting something out of the box that can push those heavier .224 projectiles quicker..... Or just plain want a new lil short action bolt gun ( which there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with) the .22-250 kinda still has it beat as far as ammo selection, ammo price, and one or two other points. Definitely should have less recoil then the 250 tho

Now if you reloaded I'd say 250 all day. Less powder, could hot rod it, load about all the .224 bullets out for the most part, can just convert you own brass from 6.5 Grendel. As a reloader there's I love the lil guy

But again...

If you got the money, and want what you want , just get it who cares smile

Here in W.V we are limited to .22 cal for night hunting. I am looking to buy one soon as I can. If it does well they say it will in an AR platform, it would be great. I am running a bolt gun in 22-250 now. I have been very pleased with it. But really like the AR for night hunting.

I like my 22-250's. Can have many different options by changing bullet designs and velocities. Load it heavy or light, fast or slow. Smaller big game down to rats. All with the 22-250.

Yes sir I understand that, but that’s where harmonics come into play. If the barrel isn’t just right you’ll never get a good group. Most barrels suppressor ready are thick. Most barrels not suppressor ready aren’t. Go cutting off or tapping and throw a suppressor on there and you just wasted time and money.

So with that, then any barrel threaded and a suppressor added will still be POA equals POI?

Shifting the point of impact and wrecking the accuracy from threading a barrel are two different things. Anything you change on a rifle including adding any muzzle device has the potential to shift point of impact.
