With all the thermal talk on here, what scanners are yall running.
I have the opportunity to grab the AGM TAIPAN TM10-256, has anyone ran this model?

Wanna be, Swamp Wolf…. What are yall using?

Hanger,
I currently don't have a scanner, but have decided to purchase another thermal scope to use as a scanner.

I have the AGM Rattler V2 35-384. It has a base magnification of 3x.

I'm gonna purchase the Rattler V2 25-384 as it has a base magnification of 2x, and a wider FOV.

Plus, the Rattlers come with a great QD mount (to picatinny base), so I can use the 25mm scope as a scanner or attach it to another rifle as needed.

I just got the rattler V2 19-256, I’m happy with it but can see going for the larger lens in the near future.
I may have to go that route, and use the 19-256 for the scanner.

That's definitely what I'm gonna do....then you'll have an extra scope and a scanner.

I took off the mount of my AGM and hang it around my neck as a scanner when hunting. Rattler TS35 640. A little overkill for a scanner but works until I get all my guns/thermals/suppressors situated.

We bought a FLIR PS 32 back in 2013 and still use it.
I sure wish there were options available now back then.
Something up to date would be nice but it works fine for us.

This technology is moving to the consumer market rapidly.....and thermal optics with advanced features that cost $4,000 to $6,000 a couple years ago are now $2500 to $3500.

And higher resolution is being offered to the consumer.

In about 3 or 4 years a 1280 resolution will be $5000 or less and 384s and 640s will all be $1000 to $2000.

Does anyone use a head mount? Or do you just hold it to your eye, I have shoulder problems and it would be difficult to hold it to my eye for long periods.

There’s a guy on Predator Masters that set up a sweet rig. Thermal on one side for scanning and NV on the other for driving. Think he’s got some serious money in it though.

Thanks for the info guys, it looks like I’ll just buy the rattler v2 35-384 and use my other one as a scanner.
