I got dry bit by a timber rattler a few years ago.

I was none the worse for wear from the snake.

Did know it was a dry bite at first. Went home and got new skivvies then went to the er.

They did bloodwork and told me I got lucky. I'll tell ya one thing though. I felt every heart beat and breath on the walk out of the woods.
It got me on the hand as I went to sit down turkey hunting.

There wasn't a turkey within 10 miles of me when it hit. I squalled loud enough to wake the dead.

Momma wasn't happy with the state of my drawers when I got home. When I told her what happened she went from mad wife to angry nurse. I just couldn't win.


I've come close with cooperheads a few times. But never got smacked.

People rarely die from copperheads. Timber rattler is a different story
