I had one that got constipated and would barely run with no power. Immediately I decided it had lost compression and was going to put a new piston and ring in it. I started taking it apart and took the muffler off and seen a fine screen in it that was totally, absolutely, completely stopped up. I put it back on without the screen and it is still running.
One time I was sawing with a different saw in a drought and lots of leaves and started a fire and learned to dance, good thing I had a full bladder and a water jug. So I'm kinda leery in dry weather.

Make sure you take the air filter out and clean periodically. You would be surprised how fast they get full of sawdust.i blow mine out every time before I go to the woods with the air compressor.

Yep, the screen mentioned and air filter are two of the most neglected things on a 2 stroke. Then people blame the manufacturer

Put 1/2oz per gallon of Seafoam in the gas mix and you'll have that chainsaw putting along just slick as a whistle.

Don't forget the fuel filter.

Mud Daubers are notorious for plugging up mufflers if the saw sits for a while.
