Last season my chest freezer was a mess. How do you guys organize your freezers so you can actually find something.

Few bags of ice on the bottom , a layer of water bottles to freeze then kinda just stack the different meat in different piles

Cardboard boxes or plastic dividers help organization some. We have 3 very large chest freezers, that are pretty full. Stuff still gets lost in them.

Dividers help, but then you put new stuff over the old cause you don't want to be continually repacking. baskets work too, but you don't want them too heavy to lift out to get to the bottom stuff.
in other words, nothing works, lol

For the house we use an upright, meats sorted by individual shelf ... chicken, duck, turkey, beef, pork, and lamb.

Easy. Start with a layer of beaver hides on the bottom, then keep layering more beaver hides on top of those until the lid won't close.

Milk crates and wire baskets work well for my meat freezers. i use the same theory on the trapping ones rolled pelts in plastic totes. skunks are the exception -- freeze whole (in trap if necessary) inside a garbage bag -- 1 freezer is dedicated to them. when full, I skin, descent, and then plastic tote them in a fur freezer.

I put most of the frozen veggies in paper grocery bags. They hold a lot and are pliable to an extent. Most meat goes in smaller cardboard boxes.. The trays above are good places for assortments of various items.
