Nice gills! We catch them too but I try to throw them back . They like to swallow hooks though.

Tell me more about eating Crappie eggs, never heard of anyone doing it.

Never ate Crappie eggs, but Yellow Perch Eggs are pretty good.

My Dad ate fish eggs but he grew up during the Depression and everything got ate back then, including baby pigeons out of the nest.

I brother likes the eggs.
Never cared for them myself.

Nice job!! I’m always jealous when I see a pile of nice eater crappies. If there’s a fish on this planet that is my kryptonite…..it’s crappies!! Seems no matter the season, everyone but me is catching crappies. I’m heading up camping near some lakes that have great crappie numbers next weekend……sure hoping me and the kids can get into them as they fight good and can be a nice steady bit if we can figure out where they are and what they want to eat!!
