Dave, from the sounds of things, the issues you describe aren't going to get any better. You may want to start seriously shopping for another vehicle now. Waiting will only prolong the inevitable. Plus, if something happens, such as your frame breaking or your gas tank falling down, then you won't have anything of any value that anyone would even remotely consider taking in on trade. You may also want to prepare yourself for the fact that your truck may not have much of a trade-in value.

You ran it into the ground, time to start on another one, dealer won't give you anything for trade in, but any truck that starts is worth $1,000 to someone.

I know a guy that bolted a 6x6 in his frame- but it has to be an open frame and rotted in the right place.. Or you can wrap a chain around it so it doesnt completely snap in half while your driving it.

it was once again cheaper to put good quality rust inhibiting paint on the frame and body than to keep replacing frames under warranty.

they can make them good it is if it is cheaper to make them bad or make them good they got burned so they made it better

I had 2001 Silverado frame and body rusted away after about 50,000 miles, I still have an 08 Silverado with 40,000 miles body and rocker panels rusted through but frame is ok. My 2014 Tundra with 50,000 miles many of them on rough logging roads, frame and body in very good condition. That’s what I’m saying, and why I’ll never own another gm product.

If you take it in for a trade, they are going to look under it and see the bad frame and see that they won't be able to resell it, but they won't tell you that.
What they will do instead is tell you that they will give you $5,000 in trade while at the same time, jack the price of what they sell you by $6,000.
Trade-ins are always a bad deal. Always.
In your case, you will be money ahead by parting out your truck or shoving that death trap into a ravine, and just buy a different truck.

what I am saying is I wouldn't be to quick to brand loyalty Toyota had their issues in 2000-2010 also years of frame recalls.

also a LOT can be done with the fluid film to preserve any vehicle before it has started rusting bad.

Toyota are good but you can't nessisarly count on the next one to be just as good it is a constant what costs more preventative or possible recalls , none of them are looking to make them last 20+ years , they just want to get it past the warranty

but there is a lot you can do to make it last 20 years.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Then you should have traded it in 5 years ago when everyone told you to before the frame rusted. I had a jim dandy Tacoma I'd just recently put a new clutch in, 150k miles, ran like a top.... when the frame decided to rust through. Having it hauled off on Monday for a $100 scrap price.

I'd be shocked if you can get $1000 trade in value, or on the street, for a truck with 300k miles and a rotten frame.

That said, a sucker's born every day. List it for $2k on Facebook and see what happens.

Trade ins are where the dealers make their money, anything they give you on a trade in they add to the vehicle you're buying. Sell it outright or for scrap, you'll be money ahead.

Road salt, flow thru air systems, trying to cheap out by not getting rust proofing when new.
