Nice young fella met up with me today from Pa Game commission to give me a permit for the baby fox I found. But I’m wondering why he snapped this tag??? Now I can’t loop it around through an eye hole or something if I decided to send it away for tanning…..
do I just attach it some other way? It doesn’t open for me. Like; that’s final.
I never had a special tag before so I don’t know how it works. Thanks everyone I hope you all have a great long weekend!!

Maybe an unsnapped tag costs more, haha.

I would GUESS that the number on the other side of the tag is associated with the incident so I would think you would be fine. He likely snapped it so it couldn't be used for another purpose that at a glance would look legal.

I have nothing clever to put here.

a fox wouldn't normally need a tag if it was in season.
so sending it off to the tanner shouldn't be an issue
and it keeps you from snappin it on any other fur that would need a tag at a tannery.

that is my take on it.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Can't be opened without damaging it.

I would assume that he "locked' it to ensure one time use, but I'm not 100% sure.

Georgia uses those on checked/tagged bears and on WMA harvested deer on managed hunts.

Also, same type tag used by most states for bobcat and otter CITES requirement.

The government is more concerned about 1 road killed fox cub, than they are in tens of millions of illegal alien, fighting age men, from hostile countries, invading our country. Things need to change.

I was helping teach a hunter ed class and gw was late because she had to respond to an incident. Guy shot hen instead of gobbler. Nice big hen only headshot. Gave it to me along with one of those tags.

What Swamp Wolf said, It is now spent.

Those tags are dangerous.
They can go from killer cougars to stocked coyotes
and beyond just from the whim of an internet hunter.
