Gulo If you could accomplish that list on a daily basis It would be my opinion that indeed what you had accomplished order in your life to the highest possible way By achieving order every day you would be able to maintain a peace of mind that would allowing each succeeding day to repeat what it took for each day ff your past to allow you to just do as the song goes by Jackson Browne Get up and do it again Just get up and do it again my friend

I firmly believe that the little things are what we find the most pleasure in The smell of wet leaves in the fall The gobble of a turkey honking of a goose the chackle of a ringneck pheasant as he struggles to gain altitude as it flushes from heavy cover All these things scream at us to say we are alive

The sound of a deer you just arrowed piling up out-of-sight after running a short distance.
The smell of wet dogs.
The smell of drying fur.
The absolute silence of a forest after a fresh snow.
The whine of a couple of upland dogs bursting at the seams with energy as we approach the day's first cover.
The gobbling of a wild turkey.
The sound of one of my dogs' nails clicking down the hallway late at night as they do a quick patrol.
The sounds, smells and feel of the woods waking up pre-dawn.
The smell of burnt gunpowder.
The smell of skunk.
The smell and taste of the morning's first cup of coffee.
The smell of old leaves in the fall.
The feel of the cool breeze preceding a thunderstorm on a hot summer day.
The sound a big fish makes as he sucks your surface crankbait under on a pitch black night.

Good thread Jack.

Eh...wot?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Wow!!!!???? Bad morning??? Or did the wife burn the bacon...

LOL, actually, she loaded firewood as I cut it this morning, at least the smaller rounds, then said, " Picked up a couple racks of ribs yesterday, in the garage fridge".

Belly's full, and I'm pretty darn content right now.

But yeah, with all the nonsense going on in the world, I'm learning to really take pleasure in, and savor, the little things. And not take anything for granted.

I do love this thread!
How about watching old cartoons?
The smell of a pot roast cooking
Making a donation towards a worthy cause

Having an air conditioned bedroom when the mood hits in the summer
…alternatively, having total privacy in the woods when the mood hits
(Surprised none of you sickos mentioned THAT)

Supper on the back porch with my wife. The crack of daylight. The stars on a clear night. Knowing I have peace with God and no fear of dying.

Forgiveness is just a prayer away.

The comforting hiss of a Coleman lantern.

The unique smell of a pine woods.

The beauty of a small stream Brown Trout.

A nice fire shared with friends.

The smell of muskrats drying in the shed.

The sound of mallard wings as they make the final approach.

The smell of rain after a Spring shower.

The absolute quietness of the woods after a storm in the Winter.

Seeing a tip-up flag go off.
