Thinking of bow hunting the great state of Oklahoma this fall any guys from Oklahoma have any tips on your state? Not looking for locations just general information on public. Do I need a canoe or kayak to get around what’s terrain like etc. thanks in advance

Hills and timber in eastern part. It gets more open the further you go west. There are a lot of lakes and rivers but probably not much need for a canoe on most public land. Some big deer in the eastern part of the state but generally bigger in the west, especially body size.

Be aware that they just significantly raised the non-resident prices effective this fall.

Okiecntry thanks for the info l. Yeah i saw the increase but for the tags you get when compared to say Kansas it’s not bad. But certainly not planning on harvesting that many deer either. Just looking at options now

If want some opportunities for pigs , as well, come on down to Comanche county . Plenty of public ground .

SW Oklahoma, about an hour from Oklahoma City. Some rolling hills and brushy . The oaks are concentrated around water, which concentrates everything.
