Anybody own one of the newer Rossi lever actions? How is accuracy and quality? They are making a new R95 chambered in 30-30 and 45-70. I've wanted a 45-70 since foolishly selling my Marlin years ago. This one looks like a copy cat of the 1895. I've handled one and it feels decent. Still pricey at over eight bills but way cheaper than a new or used Marlin if you can find one.

I read something that suggested Rossi's quality has improved in recent years but I've never owned or shot one.

I've handled them and they seem to be decent but never shot or owned one. I've had my eye on the Rossi 92 in 454 cassull but they only offer it in stainless right now. Sure would make a nice thumper

Had one sigle shot Rossi, left a real bad taste in my mouth for that brand and don't plan to go there again

I have a 44mag lever that’s a decent copy of the Winchester 92, the only thing I dont like is they put a safety lever on the bolt right in front of the hammer, I dislike safety’s on lever guns in general but to me this is somewhat irksome

I have been eyeing the new 45/70 as well

Accuracy is decent what one would expect from the cartridge and the rifle

Stevesgunz.com has a plug to get rid of that goofy safety as well as a few other upgrades for the rossi 92

I haven't used one of their lever guns, although I've heard good things about their 454 Casull lever gun. I do own a Rossi Circuit Judge in 22lr/22mag. I made a takedown out of that by simply removing the bolt that holds the buttstock on, actually made a wingbolt that you can spin in and out by hand, but never use it, just slide the buttstock on when I go to use it, and pull it back off when it is ready to go in the pack. First one I bought years ago, the 22mag cylinder was out of time, called them about it and they said to send it in, wanted both rifle and cylinder, they sent me a whole new gun, no hassle except the local sporting goods store (now out of business) that I originally bought it from, refused to have any guns shipped to them, even though it was replacing one I bought from them, so I had to have it shipped to a different FFL. My only complaint about the rifle is that it isn't available in stainless (and Victor#0 doesn't want his in stainless, lol) that gun rides around in my pack all winter, bounced around on a snowmachine, pack thrown on the ground randomly, constantly wet and seldom taken in and dried and oiled. It is a bucket of rust (never understood why anyone would NOT want a stainless gun) but it functions fine and has never, once, been off sights.
