Already at Trout Brook Farm here in Baxter

We have hundreds hatched. Some almost getting their feathers all the way down to fresh hatchlings a week ago.
Around here they're considered pests that ruin lawns and boat yards, ramps and dock with their constant eating and crapping

I read an article lately that said Geese will take a crap like every 4 minutes!

Almost a bad as Pigeons. In industrial parks around here, they will build a nest, lay eggs, and start sitting them between quitting time Friday and starting time Monday. VERY aggressive! One of my favorite ADC jobs. LOL

They can poop 1 1/2 pounds per day per bird.
I hate the things.

A very close friend of mine is a survivor of flight 1549 that went down in the Hudson. Right after that NY , NJ and the port authority rounded up about 10,000 of them and got rid of them.

Yes very wide range in ages or sizes of broods or clutches in our area. So many of ours are year-round residents so they are here all year and they don't burn up all those calories flying to Hudson Bay and back down south every year. We are offered quite liberal bag limits in our early season here.The geese are bigger and they taste much better then those that live off mussels up north during the summer.

I love seeing and hearing them.

The geese in my pond hatched April 14th. They are big and ugly now. Hopefully they sprout feathers and leave soon. They sure like eating my corn!
