Picked up these set of brass jaws there had teeth but were taken off there were on a early post pan victor the trap was in poor condition the jaws fit tight together very heavy jaws no marks on jaws size #1 1/2 longspring want to sale them and have no idea who made them or value thanks for any information [Linked Image]

looks like someone made a mold and cast them possibly using a 2&1/2 for reference that is why the tooth marks.The castings are quite poor and do not appear to be factory.Value? What someone will pay but I would not represent them as factory IMO.

What's bad about the casting that you see? I thought they look OK, at least from the photos.

Not factory production...they look amateur or shop made. Rough fettling around parting lines which indicates excess flow-off from unprecise/primitive mold. Jaw dimensions (width, length, arc) appear inconsistent. Surface looks unfinished.

Could be someone experimenting around with different jaw applications.

Without provenance, value would be as a novelty item...still interesting.
