I keep one (Thermacell) in my back pocket when coyote or hog hunting at night during the warmer months. I turn that joker on the minute I leave the house so it’s good and hot by the time I start my walk in.

+1 on the thermocell. I’ve got the older butane powered version and have refillable cartridges. Works great when sitting in one spot.

The new ones have a clip on them. I’ve even clipped some to my shirts that have a collar with hanging tag on the outside of the shirt.

in the lack of turkey thread we see may suggest herbicides and pesticides might be the cause.
Many say control what you can control.

yet in this thread we see many suggesting the use of all sorts of pesticides, talk about a disconnect.

Stand back and take a look at your actions, if more landowners/homeowners acted more responsibly we would have more wildlife, even if your yard is a couple of thousand sq ft you could be helping not hurting.

I fog my woods also.
Crotches that can hold water get directly sprayed.

The 1000 square feet around the house isn't turkey habitat. I do more good killing a couple nuisance nest raiders than any damage done by spraying for bugs.

A Thermacell isn’t gonna hurt a turkey or any other wildlife. It doesn’t even kill mosquitoes, it just keeps them away.
Been at my house for 25 years now and ain’t seen a turkey anywhere near it. I don’t think folks are spraying their hunting lands, we know mosquitoes are there, that’s just part of life. I can control them at the house though.

Got to shift them gears, but not everyone can drive a standard transmission.

A mild winter and very wet spring has them swarming like crazy here. I like to use Citronella Kerosene in a barn lamp with a red globe for night fishing, along with a couple of Bug-O-Bucket's. Works great!

Exactly what kind of women do you hang around?

I have nothing clever to put here.

This is all I use- you need to set on sign and be in a target rich environment.

Given the hatch this year I suggest cross staking. It is a healthy batch!

this is an example of what I was talking about, not using a thermacell, sheesh, some people.

All flying insects, even dragonflies?

And yes even 1000 sqft of land that was once nothing but lawn that is converted to native grasses and forbs will help. It may not hold turkeys but it will act as a reservoir for insects and plants that feed the bugs they eat.

Get yourself a backpack fogger and don’t ever have to worry again. Only thing I noticed was it cuts down on the fireflies too.
