I am hosting the 32nd Annual East High School fishing tournament today for my students, many of whom have never been fishing before. We give away fishing gear to everyone who comes and big prizes to the person who catches the biggest, smallest, or most fish. It is one of the best days of the year. I find a ton of fishing lures which I then sell and 20% of the profits go to sponsoring this event. I am expecting 30 kids and about 10 adults today and hopefully there will be big smiles and fish stories by the end of the day.

I encourage anyone in WI to take someone out today.

That’s sounds like a great way to spend the day! Free fishing weekend in Oregon this weekend. I don’t have plans to go unfortunately.

Kids had a great time. They caught Sheepshead, catfish, carp, perch and a walleye. Lots of smiles and laughs. I was so busy retying hooks and untangling reels that I didn't have time to take any photos. A side bonus was that nobody fell into the river or got hooked.
