Had to make an emergency trip to Indiana. We get to Ohio and there is a safety corridor for about 20 miles. There is a dead coon about every half mile. Doesn't anyone trap coons in ohio?

if you came through on US 35...we dont have raccoons till you hit chillicothe. At least not as many raccoons as the turkey hunters think we have. I didnt intentionally set a coon trap till january this year. And all i caught was 2 bobcats we cant keep and jumbo possums lol. Course as soon as raccoon season ended i caught the crap out of em in beaver and coyote sets.

Yeah once you get into flatlander county, where the glaciers were, it's all cornfields and deer leases . No trapping on most of the deer leases.

That's too bad. It would be fun getting permission to trap coons there. Wonder why they don't want the coons gone? They don't hunt with dogs do they?

Oh they want them gone, they just don't want anyone there during there the 4 month deer season
What few dog runners that are left they don't harvest any coon most times.

Im here where 70 and 75 cross if you all wanna see the glacier land. We've always had more coon than down south. Thats why those hounds down south run for ten miles. You can kill plenty of coon in Ohio with a patch woods dog. Trapping coon aint hard its about like muskrat trapping here. Not much to do with them anymore though all the in the round fur buyers are about closed up and thats how we grew up getting rid of them.

And the carcass buyers we did have left didn't want anything to do with coon hunter coon. I used to have some hunters give me coon they hunted and I was lucky to get a couple ina batch that didn't rip in two
