99% of businesses can make a website that is easy to search, easy to navigate and easy to do business with. Why is it that 0% of ANY GOVERNMENT can make a website that you can find anything on, let alone do business? I went on the PA website today. I needed to reprint the registration for my trailer. It quite literally took me almost a half hour to figure out where to go, what to click on, (it kept me moving in circles) and then once I found that, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops including adjusting my cookies in settings! I'm pretty computer-literate, so I don't know what someone who isn't would do. Like everything else any government touches, it's not worth a crap! Rant.......probably just beginning.

Many government agencies don’t have the brightest and best IT guys. The smart ones went to work for the private sector.

I do know that the software that the FSA offices use is provided by the lowest bidder. There were massive problems with one of the software releases several years ago in the FSA office. The company that provides the software only bata tested it with one customer. Once the software was installed at the offices and things went live, everything crashed. It took several months from installation to when they figured out the core of the problem. Of course by that time, the thirty day guarantee that the software company provided was past and we tax payers fixed it on our dime.

Tell me about it I have a cabin on the Cedar River in SE Iowa, so I like to Keep track of the water. I don't know if it's government but it sounds like it, The National Weather Service has redone their website. I can't find the river gauge for my location. I sent them a Email voicing my opinion. I asked if Joe did this.

Likely the Army Corpse of Engineers run it, I have found them to be reasonably attuned to things, less like government, and more like Army.

I'm awfully computer illiterate so if I need a copy of my trailer registration I'd go to my local Department of Motor Vehicles and get one pretty quick.
But I live in NY, I don't know how things work in PA

The Go Wild licensing site for the WI DNR is pretty good. Other than that, trying to find useful current information on the DNR website is like throwing darts blindfolded.

It took me 1/2 hour. I can can't even drive to the DMV in 1/2 hour. God Bless if you can. Then again, you still have to wait in line and deal with all that BS. God forbid you don't have the information they want. Pa wanted the title number and the plate number.

Us non tec guys have our wife's take care of it, our kids, or drive to the branch and wait in line and do it in person.
Yes everything the government does is crap.

You think thats bad, here in Minnesota, the state spent 650 million to revamp the DMV website on their own. It failed miserably and messed things up for months until they hired an outside firm to do it right.

The govt makes a mess at everything they touch.

The search engines have been ruined by regulation, If you type in USPO it will take to another service rather than the USPO site your looking for.

It's a government deal, seems any thing they come up with is a effort.
I tried once to find the dump hour's on the Stillwater county government
website an never did find it.
It's only 3 miles away so just gambled and went .

Just a personal observation cruising various govt websites.

The redder a govt is the more understandable the site is. Georgia ain't bad, Fulton County not so much.

University sites outside of the educational side are fubar.
