Mines relatively new...a 2015. I pay about $100 a month Deductible is a non-issue as yer gonna get hosed no matter what. Wife's health insurance is $3500 deductible. ER patients came in last night from a car wreck. Their fault. Zero insurance. One person was $5000 to patch up and send out the door. Write that one off.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I was with Progressive forever at about $125/mo. Went to State Farm and asked the pretty little gal " can you beat this"?. She beat it by $50/mo.

Its crazy high. My 2021 jeep pickup is a 1000 a year and 2008 dodge dakota is about 600 a year. Both with 1000 dollar deductible.
I have not had an accident since 2006 ( only one I've had) and the other driver was arrested and ticketed. I have not had a moving violation ticket, (speeding or anything) since 1990. Have a good credit score. Same address for 37 years and don't drive to work. Was a real bad idea to force people to buy insurance. rates are nuts and the uninsured are still out there so uninsured clause is still a must. They got you under their thumb just the way they like it. Wear your seatbelt. Insurance companies have got the law passed. Big brother is taking care of us. I have backed up more miles than most have driven forward and I still get gouged.

My 2018 Silverado through progressive is just under $500 every 6 months. If I paid monthly, it would be about $100/mo. Pretty significant savings to pay for 6 month term at a time. 1000 deductible with a $0 deductible on glass. 100/300/100 coverage.

Its a rackitt for the insurance companies when the states make it the law that you have to have the insurance.
Here in Michigan before the WITCH was elected, the law was passed that if you already had health insurance there was no need for auto health insurance.
If you get into a wreck and needed some medical care your Medicare/extension insurance would cover that.
Its an issue the state was having with the insurance companies. Too many went without it, and even today some still do.

2020 F150 Raptor -- $1000 Deductible Collision --- $686 for 6 months. The funny thing is when the truck was new it was $427 for 6 months. No claims, no moving violations, etc. Shopped around a bit but there was not much difference to make me switch. It's called inflation the last four years!!

My wife was in the process of buying a 2020 Nissan Murano. The dealership had two the same age and almost identical mileage. One was blue the other black. She chose the blue one. She was trading in her 2014 Murano. The tires on the 2014 only had about 1,000 miles on them. They were better than the ones on the new one, so I wanted them to switch the tires since they were the same size. When they drove the blue 2020 Murano into the shop to change the tires, the driver hit a post on the right front corner. The estimate to fix the damages were just under $11,000. I saw photos of the damage. I guessed about $3,000 damage. Couldn't believe the actual estimate. That's why insurance rates are so high.
Oh, she chose to go with the black one instead and loves it.

My semi-annual premium just went up 42%. I have a 2018 Tundra and a 2014 work van on that policy both with full coverage and $500.00 deductible. I was paying about $1,700.00 per year but the last semi-annual premium was 1,269.00 which mean a $2,538.00 annual premium.
They claim it's because I got rid of the 08 tundra and bought a 2018. I call BS, a ten year newer truck shouldn't increase my policy that much. I had them send email me my policy so I can shop around and compare apples to apples.
Eh...wot?

They're all sky high....Everyone says shop around every 5 yrs and I have, but no one has been able to beat the policies I've had with Shelter Insurance for over 35 yrs.
