I have 2 yote pelts from last year that are fleshed and dried. What’s the best way to store them while I accumulate more? I want to eventually make a blanket.

Can I get like a long enough bin where I can lay them flat? Do I need to separate them somehow? Assuming they should not be rolled or folded. Keeping them hanging isn’t ideal for my family garage haha.

Fold in half or in 3 and keep in the freezer.
If you dont keep them in a freezer over the summer the bugs will turn the dry pelts into loose fur and frass.

I sent in 3 hides to Moyle that were just hanging around in our shed for a year, a moose waddle from 2021 salted and dried and trapper dried coyote and a badger with feet.
All came back great with no issues.
Depends on your environment I would say. We are very dry climate , no bugs per say to worry about.

Do they have to be frozen or would an airtight container in a humidity and temp controlled basement work out ok?

If you hang in a cold room in the basement check them every couple weeks for dermestid beetles and the maggots.
When you find some spray them down good with raid.

Send them to the tannery now. Nothing to be gained by storing them.

Depends on the tannery. Some tanneries - like Moyles - give quantity price breaks. Cheaper per pelt to do 6 rather than 2. Even cheaper for 21 or more.

There are some companies that take them in bulk and will tan and then sew for a better price then piece meal. I think I need like 13 or so for the blanket I want. Otherwise I agree, that's my only reason that I'm waiting.
