My TriStar 20 & 28 ga SxS have worked flawlessly now through several 100+ rounds.

I called TriStar awhile back. They had the world's worst answer. At least for my O/U Setter. (This is no BS.) I was told that these guns were made for a European market, and they don't shoot as much, so the pins were only made to last a few hundred rounds. Now, who ever heard of such an idiotic explanation? It sounds like they knew they screwed up on the design and are making (really bad) excuses. I figured I would be able to machine a good firing pin, but as I stated in the other post, I finally gave up. I tried all sorts of different steels. I even made a few out of 4140. I even designed a more robust set of pins. Nothing worked for very long. The design is just all wrong. From the angle the hammers strike the pins to the metal the pins are made of and the design of the pins themselves. TriStars other firearms may be fine, I do not know. However, I'll never buy another firearm with the TriStar name on it to find out. If I had a throwaway gun, something I wasn't worried about screwing up completely, I may have been able to do something with it. Machining the hammers at a different angle, making a sleeved pin, who knows. However, i didn't want to go that far. Even though I like to tinker, I figured it was just better to trade it in on something dependable.

I BELIEVE IN MY GOD, MY COUNTRY AND IN MYSELF.
