For you guys that use this… do you put this around the base of the plant or scatter it on the plant like sevin dust?? I’ve heard that it’s really good against squash bugs.. Which Ive battled for years,,

Both, but it only works on the young squash bugs, hit em early and try to get the dust up under the leaves, For vine borers dust heavy at the base.
I usually plant late and rotate the areas the squash is in, seems to help, Butternut squash is more resistant to them then most other squashes, I think it's the "bristles" on the vine that helps.
Don't use the pool DE, you want the ag, food use stuff.

Do both around base and on plant. For food crops use FOOD GRADE DE. Reapply after a rain. x2. pain when it rains every day but fogger makes for easy quick application.

We use a duster to apply the DE to our squash. On and around the plants. Like this one : DusterAd say's "Product discontinued".

Diatomaceous. (You're welcome. ) It is fossilized remains of hard-shelled microalgae, called diatoms. The ones they use for diatomaceous earth are older than dinosaurs.

I use it suspended spray 2 Tbl spoons DE to 1 Qt of water. Just constantly need to shake sprayer. It puts a nice even coat where you want it . I use a small pump up weed sprayer. I think I might try this out,,, thanks!!
