Can't seem to find the post I made yesterday about finding a ziploc bag of money. Maybe I'm going blind. Anyone know what happened to it?

Anyway stopped at all the houses and everybody, especially the 87 year old lady, were very pleasant to talk to. Nobody knew anything.

I'm going to give the money to the church we attend, ziploc bag and all.

Why??

The church is always doing things for the homeless shelter and the food pantry. They can do more good with it and help out those less fortunate.

So they say.

Yeah, one I attend for about 9 years was in its 3rd generation. The pastor who started it was a preacher's kid and now his daughter is an associate pastor at hers dad's church. I think its always sort of a slippery slope when you have multi-generational income from being ministers. I don't expect professional ministers to be paupers but if they are going to be paid like a small business CEO, well, then they probably are. I found that this particular denomination was big on getting people saved (that's a good thing) and receive the Holy Spirit (also a good thing but I believe it doesn't manifest the same in all people (I won't get into what HS spirit gift that this denomination uses the most for "proof" of getting it but they had a favorite). After that, the flock was pretty much on their own, not really big on being flock shepherds, we were supposed to do that. I think the senior pastor was much more stoked about getting the church's name on some plague in African churches they helped build that dealing with the struggles of his congregation. I'll see how he does in retirement, if he ever actually steps away and lets the next generation (all hand picked) run it. .
