Anyone ever pour epoxy as a table top coating.
First time for everything.
How thick does it need it to be.
Having a hard time deciding how high to make the edge before the pour. 1/4 inch OK?

I made a rolling hinged bar(think L shaped when open) and did the top in epoxy. I stained the top with oil based stain, then used shellac to seal that in. The shaellac was compatible with the epoxy. Then poured approximately 1/4” thick top. I think I did it in two pours but I can’t remember. It may have only been one pour. It was fairly easy to do and the outcome was great.

I would recommend sanding in between coats with a very fine grit paper if you do it in two or more coats. I would also see what the product manufacture recommends as not all products are the same.
