The forecast looks terrible with rain everyday and I would imagine the mosquitos are going to be "epic" but I am excited to see some new country and hopefully throw a line in a few lakes that haven't been fished in years.

I am only taking her along to cook, set up the tents, portage the boat, run the motor, clean fish and wash dishes. I plan to do my fair share to help out by catching the fish and drinking the beer before it gets warm.

After 32 years of working around helicopters I am practically deaf. The little bit I can hear will be drowned out by the 2 stroke outboard. I can go a lot longer without food than she can!

Hopefully the mosquitoes aren’t too bad. They can suck the fun out of anything!

They are HORRIBLE here and I suspect worse up there. I have an extra screen tent with for the outhouse so the priorities are taken care of.

Now you’re talking. Try to find as many other chores for her to do as you can, it builds character and more memories for her. I notice a constant supply of cut and stacked campfire wood was not mentioned on her list, just an example of how you have to stay on your toes so she can get the most out of the trip. Keep tuning her list of chores while she’s driving you up there.
Dilligance towards her experience even while your say napping or swilling a cool one in the back of the boat may be a distraction but it’s your duty. It’s for her. Don’t forget to park in the bush where she has plenty of room to load and unload the truck. Another one of those little things she will appreciate.
