When we bought our place up north the neighbor had a couple dozen traps he wanted to sell to me after he knew I trapped. I wanted to treat him fair and did not know what to offer. I took the traps to our WTA convention that fall and explained to one of the vendors that deals in traps and antique traps and he gave me his thoughts on what the traps were worth and that is what I paid the neighbor for them.

I bought a bucket full of rusty traps 15 years ago maybe, for $5.00, ended up all being Newhouse 14's and 48's. SCORE.

Wait, what, 50% of new price? Then why does everyone in the trap shed sell them for new price PLUS shipping?

It’s like gun shows up here, lightly used gun, $50 more than the Cabelas price.

Have tried selling all my traps for those type of prices and all I get is that I want to much for my trapping gear all good stuff.Despite the low fur prices I cant let it go for give away prices.seems to be a hard sell.

Good luck, they sell high at auctions.
They rust up dukes an get new house prices for around here.
I have yet to see any go for a true user price.

Garage sales are much better, a wanted sign for them.
