The auction is in North Bay, Canada. On line is June 12-13, then live auction June 15-17.

In addition to hammer price, you pay an 8.2% commission and a packing fee per pelt, which varies depending on the species. Then you have to get the goods across the border and too you.

I was just about to ask more details. So they won’t ship?
I was navigating the site a bit

If you buy non-CITES goods, they can come in on their truck, after the sale. Usually 4-6 weeks later. They go to their Wisconsin depot and are shipped out from there. If you buy raw goods, they will ship direct to your tannery if you want. Ship from Wisconsin.

If you want to buy CITES goods - wolves, bears, otter, Lynx, bobcat - you will need to import them yourself. Can be a bit pricey.

Keep in mind, this auction is mostly for furriers and dealers. Pelts are sold in groups, so except for wolves and wolverine, you are buying multiple pelts at one time.

Beaver and raccoon are offered in bundles of 50. Hammer price is per pelt.

So 50 beaver at $30.00 per pelt is $1,500.00 plus fees and shipping.

This auction may not be for you. There are numerous people selling fur on eBay and Etsy. Plus there are companies with web sites.

Moscow Hide & Fur
Western Montana Fur Center
Glacier Wear

To name 3. All those places sell individual pelts.

Thanks Nancy. I’ve dealt with Moscow before. Many many years ago when trying taxidermy. They sent me frozen badger pelts. I talked to the guy on the phone because I was iffy about trapping and hunting. He told me a long time ago “one day you will come full circle and realize why it is important” and here I am. Isn’t that funny???
I haven’t been on their site in a while but I’ll check it out! Thank you!!!

I don’t know what she wants. Most people that like fur around their house want a nice variety, not all the same thing.

And don’t you have strawberries you should be picking……….

I don’t know if I can get to PA rondy this year but I went in 2019 cause it was close. I never seen so many beautiful pelts! We came home with a Lynx (not the most prime but still cool). I saw big bear pelts and a tanuki which I kick myself to this day for not purchasing.

Can you bid on stuff if the trappers account says “ Tag Graded but not Catalogued as Yet!!!”.?
I got a few coons that say this, others are seeing this too.
