Who struggles with it? I'm one who has always had a hard time gaining weight. I think it's just as much of a curse as not being able to loose weight.

I've experienced some age-related weight loss and I'm trying to get it back. I'll be sixty-five in November. I bought an accurate digital scale a month ago, weighed myself and recorded the number. Over the course of the month I've been forcing myself to eat, even when I don't feel like it. Healthy food generally speaking, high in calories and protein.

I weighed myself a couple days ago and after a month of stuffing as much fattening food down my throat as I could eat, the scales read the exact same weight as I started at. To the 10th of a pound.

Have you guys tried supplement shakes?? Maybe like ensure?? They are not very good, but I work one one one with patients in the hospital and we have a long term care unit, that's the first thing we do is add ensure to a patient that's shows weight loss, usually start by adding in between meals, than if more is needed adding during meals. There are more than ensure just what we have on contract and we supply. Not too bad if you add to ice cream and make a shake. We also have a high calorie super cereal.

Lifting weights put the most weight on me. Slow at first because fat burning off set some muscle weight gain. High protein diet eggs, and meat and working to build muscle. Building muscle is more difficult the older you get with testosterone levels being lower than when we were younger.

Yep. I've been drinking Boost which is similar to Ensure. Doesn't seem to help.

I lost 25 pounds in 2020 because of a bad case of Covid. I've never been able to gain it back. I think there are several reasons as follows. I retired in 2022 so I don't spend all day at a desk , I'm much more active now than I was when I worked and I eat healthier than I I used to. I was concerned about the loss so I talked to my doctor during my last physical. He told me that you're not supposed to be fat and all your bloodwork is fine so don't stress over it.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

If you want to put on weight, drink a tall glass of whole milk right after you workout.

Can you up grade boost like you can with ensure? I haven't dealt with boost. Our main one we use is ensure enlive has a higher cal and protein intake. I know my mother inlaw who doesn't have a stomach uses ensure max, to help keep weight on and give her vitamin thats she needs.. more protein you get, the worse tasting the drink will be.

When I was young I could eat anything without going weight. Now it's a different story.

You dont gain weight from protein or high calorie foods. Try carbs instead. Eat a lot of fruit and juices, bread pasta, cereal, potatoes, sugar, rice and beer.

Protein builds muscle which weights more than fat. Pretty sure you want a health weight gain not just fat, that leads to other health problems.

Weight gain is from a calorie surplus, regardless of what you eat. If you significantly increase your caloric intake without gaining weight over a few weeks, then your body isn't doing something right.

when you eat a meal, the carbs are converted to sugar. That sugar is is floating around in your blood stream and is then its either burned as energy or stored as fat if not burned for energy.
You must be not eating much or you're working too hard. I would say if your eating healthy and exercising, consider yourself lucky to eat what you want and stay the same weight. It might be your ideal weigh for your age. See what your HWP says.

I eat mostly keto. It's not too hard maintaining 185-190. If I stop running, lifting and eating keto--I can jump to 220 within a few months.

I've been on a steady diet of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, whole milk, ham and beef. I work out every day.

I've been this way since cancer. I think it's partially because I can't eat much at a time due to gut issues. I can only work or exercise at a certain level, get tired really easily. Everyone else is trying to lose weight and I just want to get back to having some muscle mass.
I hated protein shakes, the only thing I really crave is a good steak and then struggle to eat it all.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I’m thinking the antibiotics I took for a blood infection years ago killed a lot of my natural stomach bacteria and bile that might of impacted my ability to digest many foods like before.
