an original company designed trap?

Well since it seems a large majority of the trapping worlds seems to hats new/real change , just want stuff cheaper or minor tweaks , does make a don of sense form a financial point of view imo.
Why spend a crap load of money in R&D materials ect went a large part of the customer base will just go " can't do anything better then my ole XYZ , no if they just made the ,ABC with (insert tweaks and price change) then that would be great !"

Just make more sense to take a design that's already being made ,that people are complaining about, service those complaints and get there business.


Don't believe me ? Wait a week or two and post an idea for a new trap or item and watch the comments

I can't recall the last time I've seen a truly original trap design from any manufacturer.

MTP used to sell all the parts to make a Braun for 20 dollar. They pulled it of the website after I started building them and selling for 40$

Them there Duke traps that were pirated from other companies have saved/made me a truckload of cash through the years. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The one thing I respect about duke traps is that in recent times they are really the only ones “developing” new traps. Victor went under, sleepy creek went under, and bmi has been done a while. And duke has been giving the industry good traps with many different designs for trappers to choose from. I wish they’d come out with a full size 10” 330 but we can’t win them all. Do they copy a lot of designs… absolutely. If they could copy a #2 victor longspring I wouldn’t mind that. Now mind you I’m not a duke fan boy and have few traps of there’s and none of the new 550/650/850 traps and have no plans on buying them. But they do put money into different things rather then closing up shop.
