I was just wondering how many mole trappers still us Out-of-Site mole traps? My go to trap is Steve A. traps. My catch rate was really good until I started using them in real sandy soil. They want to dig under them.
Have a good father day.

I still use them, I have been thinking of switching to Steve's traps. I have been using his gopher traps more and more. Its nice to have lighter weight traps the older I get, also as stated in another post I like the safety factor of his design. Almost all the runs I trap are deep, 5" to a foot or so.

I found no mols worked better in sandy soil than Steve A’s traps. He makes a really good trap though.

Have you guys tried putange traps in sandy soil? Very similar to the nomols.

If you’re looking for an alternative to the Victors but still wanting a quality scissor type trap check out the Mole Reapers. They are similar to the genuine Talpex but with several improvements. I’ve been having excellent results with them in everything from heavy clay to sandy soils. I’ve got several YouTube videos showing how I set them…even one specifically for sandy soils.

Tony makes some pretty good mole traps, I used them in clay and they worked and in sandy soil they worked. Definitely would recommend the mole reapers

Thanks for the kind words! I wish I could say that I manufacture these myself, but I don’t. I work very closely with the manufacturer and there have been several changes that give this trap the nod over a Genuine Talpex.
