I guess the best way is to busy yourself with something else. We watched a good foreign film last night called “The Lives of Others” about East/West Germany and the Berlin Wall coming down. So that kept me occupied. Up early today to get breakfast and go fishing. Hope you all have a beautiful Saturday

I was lucky enough to be get my drinking problem out in my teens and put it behind me by the time I was 20. I’m guessing the feeling bad must be something you experience when you get older.

Our local trap club elected a drinker to run the club along with a couple of his goons. You mention no drinking until after shooting and boy the alcoholic crowds came to life. It’s a member run club so liability could come back to bite every member the way they were heading. They tried to convince members that they had coverage for that. I called them on it and said I doubted that would work that way if you allowed drinking and shooting.

I walked out along with others that could see the real problem, that year the number of teams dropped from 17 down to 3 teams. Not much alcohol won’t ruin if you let it run the show over time. I’ve seen enough ruined lives to know it’s a factor in peoples downfalls.

The same crew did a youth hunt with beers in hand the reasoning was, “we are not hunting so why not have a beer”.

I like to have some beer or wine now and again. Definitely drink more in the summer months to unwind from a hard day's work, but I've never felt addicted to it though. I can take it or leave it. I feel for those that struggle with it.

I think I'll have a shot of Sambuca tonight.
That'll warm the cockles of your heart.

Good for you!
I don't remember the last time when I had a beer or drink. Not against and a good beer is always good. Just never had the interest in being a drinker way too many other things of interest to me.

I quit when I got the first pacemaker 11 years ago. I have one drink on New Years Eve and one at deer camp if we get a buck. Don't miss it. I'm a professional designated driver. LOL

Good job, hang in there. I usually have just 2 per week. Been around too many boozed up A-holes over the years in my police days….

PTA Convention next week, so I’ll have a few extra cold ones!

A wise man once said-and I'm paraphrasing- I feel sorry for those that don't drink, because when they wake up in the morning, that is as good as they will feel all day!

Not too bad. I had a glass of dry red wine with dinner. It was not great but I read it can help with BP. We just watched 101 Dalmatians so that kept my mind off beer! I guess it’s time to go to bed now!!
