Been watching lots of new stuff showing up on YouTube.
Most start out with a story line " we're hoping for a big one"
Yet when filming the baiting sequence, there are multiple people, kids, dogs, talking ect.
I wanna just scream at these people...
Young bear are fairly easy to get come to a bait.
Once a bear gets a few years on it, they know the drill.
I've been around ALOT of bears since I started hunting them in about 1985 and one thing I've learned...

You are not/ will not/ cannot consistently kill older bears on a bait unless you are hunting super remote spots!! And even then.

I really doubt there is a bear over 2 years old in Mn,Wi,MI or any other place other then remote canada/ Alaska that have not been on and boogered from a bait.

You bring in your whole crew, start setting up stands, banging and clanging, cutting brush ect and expect a bear with a few miles on it to come sauntering in , good luck with that.
And the spraying these liquid scents, yanno, the " latest n greatest" that'll bring bears in from miles away.
Why promote that? [$$$],

Do you/ they really want it to become so popular everyone uses it? I spose they do iffn they can make a few $$$.

If you were a beaver trapper, would you want everyone using the same lure you do?
Same with coyotes,coons,ect.

I LOVED going to Canada years ago for spring bear hunting. I never killed a huge bear there (and still haven't yet)
In Mn where I've hunted bear for 40 years and one thing I've found is, no scent/ bait is gonna consistently help you kill old bear.
(Lower 48).

I've done every/ seen others do every " trick in the book" trying to shoot a big OLD bear.
Anywhoo, been watching too many bearhunting vids/ experts lately on YouTube and felt like ranting. smile

I

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

You don't need a Super Soaker to put out attractants for a critter that has one of the best noses in the animal kingdom. A little dab of anise paste goes a long ways.
