So I've gained a collection of Arrows with broken fletchings, love feather over vanes so when we stopped at Bass pro yes told the wife imma try fletching. They don't have the feathers I really wanted but these would work I guess....learned I probably should have gotten one of the de Fletcher tools though.

So I just stripped the old vanes off with a box cutter tried scrapping all the old glue off whipped down with acetone . [Linked Image]

I bought some glue from bass bro but stuff won't seem to set so read a bit and said the gel lock tight was go so ran to town for some. Works alot better it seems . Also I think I figured something out. Instead of letting. The magnet attach to the fletch holder then putting it on the shaft sem to work better when you put it on straight up and down the. Let it over for the Magnet to catch. That seems right ?

And these are the results from left to right being the first to last. End up adjusting the length from the nock to the fletch to 1" after the first one

Looks pretty good. The more you do it the better it gets. Never used the bohning but have a bitz which is similar. I like to wrap all my arrows so I can dip them in warm water and peel them off fletching and all when I'm done. I just use shelf liner from Walmart and cut it to size. If you start doing a lot of arrows, look into the Arizona easy fletchers. I get more consistent results with those and am able to replace one fletching if I shoot through a target. I've seen people do it with your style jig but I never got the hang of it with the bitz.

Another trick when using feathers. I like to get the clamp off asap while the glue is not completely setup. I will run my finger with pretty good pressure up the length of the quill. Really seems to make sure adhesion is rock solid.

Dab a dot of glue on the front of the feather and a dot on the back.. Just do it.

Looks good, fetching arrows with feathers take some time but it is fun.

Yep. A dab front/ back.
Just something " sexy" about feathers instead of vanes.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

They look good Cabela’s carries a shrink wrap slip over the shaft set that works well if a guy only needs to do a few shafts.

Good job! Just a slight critique since you are using right wing feathers offset them slightly to the right. You have them offset to the left meaning the front of the feather should be to the right of the rear of feather but not too much.

Good feathers by the way.

Seen these things yet I’m not sure how well they will clear the riser on the bow even. Thought it was a joke at first but it looks like a legit ad.

That bright pink is a good color if you want to see arrow flight, weather using feathers or vanes.
