I thought this chain was 4 1/2 parts and took it off a #4 small pan trap with arched kenwood springs and thin jawpost nuts. Base link will only fit a #4 and not a 4 1/2. Looking to make it right again but have been told it is only for a #44. Your thoughts????

If you want it to be right, put it back on the trap that you took it off of. Plenty of traps have been messed up because collectors wanted to fix them. Here are three different #4 small pan and a #4 large pan with the Kenwood swivel on the base. All are correct.

Thanks for clarifying that, Dean... I had acquired a 4 1/2 (below) and a 4 with the above chain on it at about the same time. Just figured someone beefed up a 4 with 4 1/2 chain parts. I never noticed the smaller base link till years later after the Kenwood springed trap was long gone... Just added one more project to the bucket list...
