Sure, has been a nice cool moist spring. Everything is green but won't be long it will be brown and then white. I don't hay I have someone else do it but should have a good year. Alfalfa fields are great and grass alfalfa mix is looking good too. A couple velvet pictures from last week. That WT not sure if he will amount to anything this year.

Wonderful shots. I love the aroma of fresh hayed alfalfa. Montana and Idaho grow some of the best hay in the country.

Thank you for sharing. It’s been perfect weather in rain and temperatures in the region , so far.

Beautiful country Snowy.
That whitetail has lots of time to blow up.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Great photos. My hay was perfect 3 weeks ago but we couldn't cut because we too have this rain problem. 2 or 3 days of sun then some rain. The hay will still be good but not prime.

That's beautiful country Snowy.

We got our hay put up last night. We only got 144 small squares. My friend, who bales for us, only cut and baled a little over half of it. Back in 1998, when we first started baling together, he would go back and pick up less than a leaf's worth of hay, if he missed it. When he first retired from the Air Force, he was very gung ho. He's more laid back about it now, which is good. He had a heart attack, while baling hay a few years ago. It took two other friends arguing with him, to get him to stop baling and go to the hospital. He had to have blockages cleared and stints put in.

This top field is flat. The one below falls rapidly going to just above my lowest area, which is around 147 feet less in elevation. The left rear of my property is about 78 feet higher than the front field. I am right on the edge of the Bellfountaine Ridge, a glacier moraine. It was to dark to get pictures in the lower field, by the time we got down there. We didn't finish until just before midnight. It rained here a little after 6:00am.

Great year for hay should be a great year for deer also we needed that here should help the elk also everything is starting to look like one big golf course now. Even the Badlands is greener than past years.

Had a young buck feeding in my yard this early morning. Judging by his rack I would guess he's just a yearling from last year.
One of my neighbors said he got more hay off this first cutting than he usually gets all summer! Looks like the rain is holding off for a few days. Maybe even long enough for the farmers to get all their hay up.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I just came from the ranch did some painting and some odds and ends. The deer love to lay in that tall grass. Yes, a good year for wildlife and a good wintah helped. I bump some out every time I there. I got a fawn on camera and is the first one I have seen.
