Hay check out what I found grin
Told the wife we where gonna go hunting for her a shotgun. Took out $400 ( she said she'd skin me alive if I tried spending more on her .....and y'all think I'm a cheapskate) Was gonna get a maverick 88 from Wally world since their like $219 and never heard of any real issues, but as usual no one at the desk no price tags on anything. Said screw it. We t to the old pawn shop with her in tow , walk in asked about a 20ga pump , they said they might have some. Spotted one off by its self and asked about it . Rem 870 20ga express magnum said they wanted $299.99. told him to ring it up before he finished talking ! I have NEVER. Seen a 870 around. Here in anything other then a 12ga and half the time they want $500+ other then a few stuff and some light rust spots looked good over all. Spent another $80 on a lil light a pic rail , some shells and a sling. Might have to start dragginger a long more as my lucky charm at this point laugh

Nice find on the 870. I think we have 3 in 20g in different model standard express with the cheaper wood, another but in youth size stock and shorter barrel, and a strait stalk Lt 20. Now I have at least one in 12 I can think of but normally only shoot 20 or 16s unless I'm taking out one of the wife's grandfathers beat up old 12g doubles.

I have 590a 1 and got to say I prefer the Remingtons over the Mossberg. But it could be it's just what I have used the longest.

Very nice find, best deals I ever got on an 870 was during the Trump slump. Walked into an academy in KY and saw they were only $250 and had a factory $50 rebate. Needi to say I asked if they had a youth model they did and I they had a 12 with 26" barrel. I told them to start the paperwork. He asked if I wanted to look at them and was shocked when I said nope so I told him come on they are 870s and I'm a gun guy don't you think I already have a few of them at home and know what they are. Wish I could get that deal again today I would buy 10 more. I think you did well.

Unfortunately they had cut cost on them further at that point and changes the trigger guards from pot metal to plastic, and changed to a notched plastic the mag tube spring pushed up on to keep the tent in on the cap that keeps the barrel on instead of the older methods. If it bugs me I can order steel trigger gards but they work well enough so...

I hope you picked a case or two of clays and and shell to run through it.

I like old Mathews bows. Thought about looking for an old z 7 or switch back since they are low priced now and a big upgrade over my old pse stingray I got in 1997. But I don't take time to shoot what I have, don't shoot the deer leaving that to the boys, and with limited time would likey be lazy and just grab the old mission x bow if I wanted to hunt.

I had a Rem 870 20 gauge pump that was a left handed model It was nice gun to hunt with because it handled nice in thick cover And my brother had a Rem 870 3 inch mag in the light version That was a really sweet gun to use for pheasants. And it was a great looking gun for the price that he paid for it Sadly they both found other homes.

That surface rust can removed with a little oil and 0000 steel wool. Go easy on the blued pieces

Deal is this isn't really blued. Not sure what you'd call it but it's kinda like bedliner but nicer

Depends on care after use and storage conditions. For the price Wolfie got it for I sure wouldn’t be too worried about rust. I ran a 870 Express for quite a while duck hunting in very sandy and salty conditions. There were a few times I would unload the thing and rinse it in the ocean water to get it cleared of grit in order to keep shooting, otherwise it was reduced to a single shot. That thing is still in my safe and works to this day.
