Hello I wanted to share my season goals. Please tell me if I'm being realistic or not laugh
Just for your instance I'm running 115 DP Traps, 24 Bobcat, Fox, Coyote Traps.

I am a land trapper. NO WATER HERE

Raccoon: 250. Previous season I caught 20 with one dozen dps (not trapping hard)
Coyote: 2 (I never trapped one) frown
Fox:3 (I never trapped one) cry
Bobcat: 1 (I never trapped one). cry frown in PA limited to one Bobcat with permit
Skunk: 5 (never trapped one. Might be a good thing :D)
Opossum: 0 (I leave em go)
Fisher: 1 limited to one per season in PA with permit
Weasel: 1 (I don't really care for weasel)

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

WATER:

if I find muskrat hole

Muskrat: 1/2

I won't find one.

Please let me know if my goal of 250 raccoon with 115 dps if realistic. I I get that goal I will go for 500 next season with 200 dps possibly.

Give me some tips with how to check with school and having a job M/W/F/S Every week (evening 3-6PM) Please and thank you

I will have a skinning machine to! (Electric whinch :D)

Can you drive? If so you’ll be like the rest of us that work. Get up early and go to bed late.

As far as your goals are concerned, do you have access to 250 coons or any of the other critters you mentioned? Can’t catch what ain’t there. That’s like me saying I want to catch 100 coyotes on 3 properties…ain’t happening cause they ain’t there. Catch what’s there and be happy for it. Most young trappers look at the professionals (people that trap for a living) and want those numbers. Unless you have some serious acreage to hit, set more realistic goals.

If you have the property and numbers, the coon will take you about 11 days give or take.

The skunk, coyote and fox shouldn't be a problem with the equipment noted being in PA.

Don't know about the Bobcat, did you get the permit?

I have never caught a fox or coyote I'm hoping I catch one. I'm always impatient and set off a trap when nothing gets in after 1 week. I feel like I set in wrong place. Have any tips for me I will gladly GLADLY appreciate it.

P.S if you know any online course I can take to catch I will do for any price any day.

Do you belong to the PTA? Usually different districts sometimes offer a free training. I have been to one a few years ago in dist 3. They even provided lunch. Support your state association and district with donations if you can and they will take care of you.
The training was a full day and covered everything from laws to set making to animal behavior to fur handling

Join. It’s easy. If you don’t have a debit or credit card you can send your membership money to them in the form of a check or money order. It is not expensive. Check out the PTA website. I’m sure you don’t have a checking account . If you want to take the first step in being responsible and a true member, pay your mom or dad some cash and have them write a check out for you and mail it in.
My district has a picnic every year as well as a nice banquet in the spring. There are prizes! A kid like you would have a great time. Start local and support local. It’s an excellent support system

When you go out to the properties, look around and see if you can pick out travel ways. Then go see if you were right. Keep in mind a food source this time of year may not be there come winter. Look for food that will be food for the targets food.

Practice making sets now so they will be uniformed and can be made with proficiency.

I think your coyote and fox goal should be easily achieved. You’ll most likely catch more.

Your raccoon goal seems a bit high though. I say that because I think you’re going to quit checking 115 traps every day. 12 traps last year is one thing. 115, all on foot, on different properties, I don’t think so.

It's only $5.00 for junior. What do I get when I do this?? Special rewards or something or I just help out trappers. I'm going to do it anyway either way.
