Rats Nest OP trapper R Joined: Aug 2022 Posts: 12 WI	Was able to buy a bunch of traps from an older gentleman and had this one in the mix. It’s a 2 1/2 Newhouse otter trap with stamped spring but the chain is throwing me a bit. Is this the older cast 8 chain? Any info or value would be great as I want to be sure to be fair with the seller.

snakecollector trapper S Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 634 S.W. Oregon,USA	Yes, that is the cast figure 8 chain. It looks to be correct for that trap, it has the straight teeth. The cut link American chain came out in 1879, but the cast figure 8 chain was also used on some traps until about 1890.
