Hey gents, I have a Hustler Raptor 52" that mowed the lawn with yesterday and parked it under a tree. An hour later, it will turn over but not start. I just replaced the Battery and starter solenoid a month ago. What kind of issue am I looking at here?

Not being a smart alek but did you check the gas? Not sure what motor it has but maybe a low oil sensor keeping it from starting

I would check for spark and or spray choke cleaner in carb to see if it starts if it does and does clean carb.

Motors don’t go from running fine, to so dirty they won’t run an hour later. And if its turning over well, the battery and solenoid have nothing to do with it. Check the safty switches.

Safety switch issue would be my guess. Is the mower blade switch engaged are the levers in natural?

Mower blades are not engaged. I'm at work, I'll check the safety switches when I get home. Thanks guys.

I would think it wouldn’t turn over at all if it’s a safety switch.

Make sure parking brakes is on and blades are disengaged. Most Zero turns won't start if they aren't in the right position.

I have cut off a few seat switches and wired together on older riders when they went bad. Didnt want to fix it properly and wanted to mow....not suggesting it just what I did to mow.

Now on 8th year with a zero turn mower. Safety switches do go bad, but engine won't turn over when they do. Check engine light comes on instead. One hard to find problem these mowers have is the electro clutch that starts the blades spinning burns out. Mine just stopped running one day halfway across the lawn. Just died slam bang. The faulty clutch burnt out the circuit fuse. Burnt out the replacement fuse too. New clutch and it has run fine every since.

Most likely a fuel problem. My mower has two tanks. If one runs dry, it will still turn over. Same would be the case with clogged fuel filter. Might also do the same of the fuel pump went out. Same would be the case if something was in fuel tank, blocking the outlet. Mom's mower quit a few weeks back and they found a chunk of plastic off the fuel jug inside the gas tank.

HayDay is correct. Disregard my comment.

check for spark

drain the carb

make sure you have fuel getting to the carb

I have vapor locked things before

on a 52 you might have a fuel pump

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have a raptor also and it has the “smart choke” that has been giving me problems. One time it will stick closed allowing it to start but run rich, next time it sticks open and won’t start. You can take off the air filter and manually mess with the choke to see it that’s it.

I occasionally have to pull fuel line off after pump and filter, then turn engine over till I get gas. Reattach and it’s good to go. Must vapor lock or something. I doubt is safety or fuse related if it turns over.

Could try removing gas cap, in case vent is plugged.

Right. There a several safety switches. My Snapper zero turn will kill if you get off the seat without shutting the blades off and not engage the brake. The brake must be on and the blades disengaged to start it. It won't turn over at all if you don't.

Try shooting some gas into the carb. If it don't fire, you have an electrical problem. How old are your plugs?

It's not always about catching fish. That's what people who don't catch fish usually say.
