Sioux City IA, Sioux City SoDak, Sioux City NE all together with the Missouri River running thru the middle. Like all of the region, heavy rain and flooding caused this bridge to collapse. Insane.

Several dam brakes happening with the large amounts of rain we have been getting.

What a mess. I got a bunch of friends in that area getting their butts kicked.

Everything is Joe fault. With all the money going to Ukraine we could of rebuilt old infrastructure but he neglected this country to help over seas.

It’s been neglected for way longer than the last 4 years.

That's a fact the state has been saying for over 10 yrs they are going to replace a couple bridges that have holes in the deck and the only thing that has happened is the holes keep getting bigger

I remember learning in school that something like 85% of the countries bridges were considered condemned or very close to it.

Two of the4 going across the Ohio River in Louisville are toll bridge. The ,I 64 is not but has been being shut down off and ononcw they said it was condemn but was reopened. It's in very bad shape.

How much money has been allotted for infrastructure rebuild in the last 20 years? Where did it all that money go?

Clearly biden and the democrats believe it's easier to build back better if you wait until all the existing infrastructure has completely corroded out of the way of the rebuilding.

I agree with that. The RR would sink if it wasn't for tax dollars keeping them floating. I say fine them for their bridge falling in the river.

That amount of water could bring down a new bridge.

Agree.Railroad is supposed to by law inspect infrastructure on a regular basis.
See a lot of bridgework here on the railroad all the time.
Back in the day the railroads had their own Bridge and Building crews (B+B) Nowadays they contract out all that work including the inspections.

Built on a floodplain?

Remember a few years back, when the mighty Mo was clear out of it’s banks, and I-29 was closed from Omaha to St Joe. Took six months or more for that mess to go away, and there were rat huts in both road ditches for two years after! Iowa was a mess all the way to Sioux Falls, but at least you could still drive it!
